The short version. We set one optional first-party cookie, and only if you accept it. It holds a random ID and nothing else. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics and no data sharing. Decline and the site works identically. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie choice link, which also deletes what we hold.

The cookie we ask about

If you press Accept on the banner, we set two first-party cookies:

  • ef_consent, which records that you answered the banner so we stop asking.
  • ef_v, which holds a randomly generated identifier. It is not derived from anything about you. It is not your name, your email, your IP address or a device fingerprint, and it cannot be reversed into any of those.

Both last twelve months and both are first-party: they are readable only by this site, never by an advertiser or a third party.

What that cookie lets us do, plainly

It lets us count the same browser twice instead of counting you as two strangers. Concretely, we record against that random ID:

  • how many pages you have read and roughly how many separate visits that was;
  • which of our five sports those pages belonged to, as a running count;
  • which of our tools you have used;
  • the site that first referred you, if your browser sent one.

That is the complete list. We use it to see whether readers come back, and which sports are actually worth writing more about. It is a first-party audience count, not a profile, and it is never combined with data from anywhere else.

If you decline, or never answer

No identifier is set, no visitor record is created, and nothing at all is stored against you. We still keep an anonymous tally of page views and outbound clicks (path, referring site, timestamp) with no identifier attached whatsoever, which is how we know a page is useful without knowing who read it. That tally cannot be traced back to a person, including by us.

We treat a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser as a decline, automatically and without showing you the banner.

No third parties, still

There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no ad network, no tag manager and no session-recording tool on this site. Nothing about your visit is sent to another company. The counting described above happens on our own server, into our own database.

The newsletter

If you subscribe, we store your email address, the date, and which page you subscribed from. If you had already accepted the cookie, we also store the random ID alongside it, so we can see which sports our subscribers read before signing up. Your email is used to send the newsletter and nothing else. It is never sold, rented or shared. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe.

Affiliate links and other companies

When you click through to a retailer you are on their site under their privacy policy, and they will typically set their own cookie recording that we referred you. That is how the commission is attributed, and it usually lasts between one and thirty days depending on the program. We never see your order, your name or your payment details, only an aggregate count of commissions. We record only that a click happened on a given product, with no identifier attached unless you accepted ours.

Your choices, and how to exercise them

  • Change your mind: use the cookie choice link, also in the footer of every page. Declining deletes the visitor record for this browser immediately, along with its interest counts.
  • Clear it yourself: deleting cookies in your browser orphans the record, and it is deleted on request.
  • Newsletter: ask and your address is removed, or use the unsubscribe link.
  • Access or deletion: email contact@equipflow.net. Please include the ID if you want a specific record found, since a random ID is genuinely all we have to go on.

Children

This site is intended for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed, tell us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this page

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the banner is shown again. Last updated 8 September 2026.
