Who writes EquipFlow

Tono Munoz, founder. I have played competitive table tennis for several years, entered tournaments, and spent time coaching. My own game is offensive: forehand-dominant, playing from mid-distance off the table. That is why the table tennis guides go deep on blades and rubbers, because I have felt the difference the wrong setup makes.

Quality matters in any sport, but quality alone is not enough. You need the right equipment for you, and that matters most when you are just starting out in a sport that is new to you. EquipFlow is here to give you that insight: a clear understanding of the sport and its gear, so your new sport journey starts with the right choices instead of expensive guesses.

Outside table tennis I am not claiming personal expertise. Those guides are researched the way described below, and they say so.

What this site is

Buying guides for five sports plus sports watches, organised so you can find the specific decision you are stuck on.

Each area has one long buying guide plus shorter pages that settle the details.

We also keep a plain-language summary of published studies on sport and healthy aging, covering every sport above that has relevant research.

How recommendations are made

Every recommendation on this site is editorial synthesis: manufacturer specifications, the published consensus among long-standing specialist publications and player communities, and the physics of the problem. We say what a piece of gear is good at and what it is bad at, because that is the information that changes a decision.

What we do not do is claim laboratory testing or mileage logs we have not run. If you see a site quoting a precise durability figure across forty shoes, ask how they generated it. We would rather be honest about our method than invent authority.

How specs are handled

Gear model years turn over fast, and a spec that was right last season may not be right now. So: figures on this site are approximate and hedged, every product entry carries a date showing when it was last checked, and every product card tells you to confirm on the manufacturer page before buying. If you find something out of date, say so and it gets fixed.

How the site is funded

Affiliate commissions. When you buy through a link here, the retailer pays us a percentage and you pay the same price you would have paid anyway. There are no sponsored placements, no paid rankings, and no brand has any say in what appears. The full detail is on the affiliate disclosure page.
